Description
Colostrum is the first secretion produced by the mother after foaling (around 2.5 L per mare), and precedes milk. Its composition differs from that of milk: it is richer in proteins, particularly immunoglobulins (Ig), also known as antibodies. Colostrum intake is therefore vital within 12 hours of birth, as foals are born "defenseless". At birth, they are devoid of antibodies and therefore unable to fight potential pathogens. Passive immunity transfer is therefore exclusively colostral.
FOAL COLOSTRUM has been formulated to provide newborn foals with the nutrients they need for growth. The addition of FOAL COLOSTRUM is also beneficial for older foals.
Its oral syringe format makes it easy to administer.

Warm to body temperature and administer a first 30 ml syringe immediately after birth, then a second 3 hours later.
Very weak foals can receive a 3rd 30ml dose after 6 to 12 hours.
