The back protector of HORKA offers protection at the front and back, just like ordinary body protection. For back protectors, there is the EN 1621-2 standard. This protector and standard originated in motorsports because riding does not yet have European certification for this type of protector. Motor sports have similar levels of impact in the event of a fall, which is why this type of protection is allowed in equestrian sports. Different parts of the equestrian industry aim to manage this same certification in a few years, in order to bring clarity to the market. Back protection is increasingly used in equestrian sports because it offers more flexibility and comfort than body protection.
