Merino wool knitted on cotton yarn gives you all the wool you need without the skin clinging to it. The natural fibers in wool are less likely to cause skin reactions or allergies. Wool also has the ability to absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture, keeping your horse dry and comfortable under the saddle. Real wool remains one of the most technically advanced materials in the world and probably the best you can use under a saddle pad.
A 600 denier polyester girth cover offers anti-chafing protection and adjustable double Velcro straps and adjustable D-straps make for easy strapping. Decorative twisted ropes and a European cut hem give a sleek, sophisticated look. A very high quality wool saddle pad, suitable for everyday or competition use, and has the advantage of being fully machine washable.
Our new spine design has been developed to reduce pressure points and provide the best protection for your horse. With a larger surface area covering the entire panel area under the seat, the natural fibers effectively wick moisture away from the skin, distribute pressure evenly and help absorb shock.
Light-column designs can cause pressure at the seams, which can lead to chafing, sores and uneven pressure distribution. To prevent this, all Premier Equine merino wool saddlecloths no longer have a clear spine design to improve comfort and protect your horse.
