Description
Tetra test strips allow you to simultaneously monitor the six most important water values in your aquarium rapide, reliably and easily. Simply dip and shake a test strip for one or two seconds in the water, then shake it to remove excess liquid, to measure its key parameters in just 60 seconds. The color chart shows whether these values are within recommended levels. You can measure pH, total hardness and carbonate hardness (GH + KH), as well as nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-) and chlorine (Cl2) levels in your aquarium water. Aquarium fauna, including fish, are very sensitive to excessive pH variations, which affect their well-being. Total hardness affects the vital functions of fish, and carbonate hardness affects pH stability (pH buffer). Test strips also measure nitrite and nitrate levels in aquarium water. Particularly harmful, even at very low concentrations, nitrites must be undetectable in the water. Nitrates, on the other hand, are nutrients that promote plant growth, but excessive quantities of NO3- can be harmful to fish and cause algae blooms. Water can also contain chlorine, which is harmful to flora and fauna. As with nitrite, chlorine must be undetectable in the aquarium. You can use the Tetra Aquatics app to determine water values reliably and rapide via your smartphone.
