Compressed coconut shreds naturally absorb and break down odors and waste. Absorbs and retains up to 8 times its dry weight in water. Large chunks increase aeration and drainage. Durable, naturally mold-resistant substrate. Ideal substrate for all types of reptiles, amphibians, small animals or insects. Made from an ecological and renewable resource. Directions: To use, simply soak the brick in a bucket of water for about 30 minutes. Separate the remaining pieces and squeeze out excess water. Add the expanded product to the terrarium or mix it withautres substrates to create the perfect substrate mix for your needs. Clean the substrate daily and change it completely every 3 to 6 months or as needed. Once the substrate has expanded, coconut chips can be left to dry out for use in drier habitats. Keepers control humidity levels by misting or adding water if necessary.
