Description
This is the only common snaffle bit that has no articulation. Instead, it has a slight curve and a medium port mouthpiece that creates a gentle action by applying even pressure to the tongue rather than the more sensitive bars and lips. The lack of articulation means there is no nutcracker or pinch action, which makes these bits commonly used on horses with sensitive palates.
The blue soft iron oxidizes easily, which creates a warm feeling and sweet taste in the horse's mouth, helping him to accept the bit. Please note that the blue color fades with use, which is normal. The combination of a soft mullen mouthpiece and soft blue iron material makes this bit ideal for recreational riding or hacking on more sensitive horses. The lack of a joint means this bit does not help with lateral bending, which is necessary for dressage and show jumping.

Care Instructions

1. Rinse your bit after each use under a faucet to remove any saliva or debris on the surface.
2. Use a sponge or soft cloth to wipe off any excess debris on the bit, paying particular attention to the joints and hinges.
3. Allow to dry naturally.
