The Hanging cheek is a fixed cheek bit that encourages flexion, which makes this bit especially useful for horses with a high head carriage. It can also be useful for horses that are unsure of the bit because it has limited movement in the mouth.
The double-jointed brass alloy mouthpiece with diamond shape distributes pressure evenly over the tongue and bars of the mouth while promoting salivation and reducing the nutcracker action of a single-jointed bit. Brass alloy is formed when copper is alloyed with a harder metal, producing a warm, durable material that is perfect for horse bits because it can facilitate salivation and be more palatable to the horse.
