Description
Full cheeks are useful for green horses or young horses as they can help them with direction. The branches of the bit create a positive action on the horse's cheeks when asked to turn. The full cheek design also prevents the bit from being dragged into the horse's mouth.
The Waterford mouthpiece is made up of a series of ball-shaped links, making it completely mobile in all directions. It is especially popular for problems such as leaning, bit grip and jaw lock. When the horse tries to grab the bit, the mouthpiece collapses, leaving the horse with no rigid grip.
The mouthpiece distributes pressure to the tongue and mouth bars. Combined with full cheeks, this bit is a good choice for a stronger horse that still needs guidance. The bit should be worn 1/4" - 1/2" wider than the standard size to be effective.

According to our size guide, the A and B measurements for this bit are:

>Care Instructions
To promote good hygiene and protect the longevity of your horse bit, we recommend the following maintenance regimen after each use.
1. Rinse your bit after each use under a faucet to remove any saliva or debris on the surface.
2. Use a sponge or soft cloth to wipe off any excess debris on the bit, paying particular attention to the joints and hinges.
3. Allow to dry naturally.
