Substrate Hydroclay

An excellent drainage substrate. Install Hydroclay at the bottom of the tropical vivarium, then cover it with a fine mesh to prevent mixing of substrates (Terra Mesh or equivalent). Then add an acidic substrate such as peat moss (Peat), coco humus (Humus), or smaller clay balls (ReptiClay). It is used for waste degradation and biotope enhancement: the is an artificial medium in which plants and animals must regain their bioclimatic environment. HydroClay 's porous structure allows the installation of beneficial bacteria that degrade waste. This substrate will enable you to create a natural vivarium that requires little human intervention.
