Reef Kalkwasser is calcium hydroxide of unprecedented purity and with solubility features. Calcium hydroxide is used to prepare limewater (kalkwasser) solutions to maintain calcium concentration at levels found in natural seawater. Kalkwasser solutions maintain calcium levels directly and alkalinity indirectly. However, its ability to achieve these effects depends on the evaporation rate and CO2 concentration. If these two factors are insufficient, calcium can be provided using Reef Advantage Calcium, Reef Complete, or Reef Calcium, and carbonate alkalinity can be boosted with Reef Builder or Reef Carbonate (do not mix them directly with kalkwasser).
