2434 Olive mouth bit for horses in stainless steel Stübben double jointed in sweet copper
A bradoon is used in conjunction with a curb bit. The difference between a bradoon and a regular bit lies in its thickness and the size of the rings.
The olive head bradoon is characterized by a fixed lateral ring. The sides are designed to be placed about one centimetre closer to the corner of the mouth compared to a snaffle bit. The olive head prevents pinching of the corners of the mouth in the rings. The horse cannot push the bit with its tongue, so the bit sits more quietly in the mouth and is slightly more stabilised laterally. As the ring does not rotate, there is a somewhat more direct action with a gentle effect on the poll. However, the difference compared to a snaffle bit is not noticeable for the horse or for most riders.
The double jointed bit distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and bars. The olive head offers slight lateral stabilisation and guidance, creating calmness and stability in the horse's mouth.
The sweet copper, which has a pleasant taste, is particularly well accepted by horses and encourages chewing.
