When you feel like you're floating on a cloud! The EDIX Signor is a top-quality anatomical barebackpad, made from original merino lambskin. A ride in this barebackpad is a super-comfortable experience for both rider and horse.
It features a pocket on each side for carrying luggage and several D-rings for connecting a breastplate or small equipment needed for riding. The leather handle on the front makes it easy to carry your horse's bag to the stable or to your car. Lambskin is antibacterial, therapeutic, regulates heat and humidity, improves pressure distribution and prevents abrasion. The total absence of rigid load-bearing parts in the EDIX BBP Signor allows the horse to move freely, especially the back and shoulder muscles. This improves communication between you and your horse.
The cushion features a stable, hard-wearing quilted cotton foam base, with a seat and abrasion zone underneath, and a zippered, removable seat made from high-quality, genuine Merino® sheepskin. As a rider, you'll find the support and comfort you need thanks to high blocks and a stable, flexible foam cantle. On either side of the spine are two large pockets, which can be opened on the front of the pad by loosening the Velcro. Each pocket offers two slots for a felt insert and a mesh insert. Of course, you can choose another type of insert to suit your needs. The two inserts, combined with optimal rider positioning, provide excellent pressure distribution. If the rider chooses to use the stirrups during a ride, he should always pay attention to the intensity of use and check the comfort and wear of his horse and stirrups after each ride. The stirrups are fixed according to the position of the inlays in the pad. In this way, the weight the rider adds to the stirrups is distributed over the different layers of the pad. Finally, the natural merino sheepskin, with its 30 mm wool fibers, efficiently distributes perspiration outwards and ensures that shocks are absorbed.
The Signor is equipped with D-rings to connect the straps, which are connected to the PP Y-strap, allowing the force of the strap to interact over a larger area of the barebackpad, as the PP strap is attached at the front and back, rather than in the middle.
Where the rider's leg rubs when riding, a leather reinforcement is provided to prevent wear.
High-quality merino wool is probably, from a point technical point of view, one of the most advanced natural materials in the world. The use of a fully stuffed lambskin instead of shaved and woven wool makes the most of the advantages of this natural material. This is why we recommend using the barebackpad directly on the horse's back, without adding a cotton saddle pad.
Like all autres merino saddle pads from EDIX, the BBP Signor has a free spinal channel in shaved fur, developed to reduce pressure points and provide optimum protection for your horse's spine.
Please let us know the strap size you require (short 12" or long 18"). Short straps are supplied as standard and long straps can be purchased at extra cost.
