Description

Leather jumping saddle Premier Equine Lyon Close Contact

The Lyon Leather Close Contact jumping saddle is made of soft German European leather with a low profile style and a solid leather flap for a traditional look.

The design of the Close Contact saddle includes a padded knee roll cut forward to help position the leg correctly, a medium depth seat and a specially designed square cantle to support the rider's natural action over obstacles.

Designed with a highly durable, extremely lightweight copolymer tree with incredible crack resistance properties that allow the tree to flex so slightly that it prevents the tree from cracking under stress, while providing excellent support to the saddle. The flocked synthetic fiber panels provide a balanced pressure distribution system, allowing your horse to move freely and without restriction.

Stainless steel safety stirrups covered with a leather skirt make applying and removing stirrup leathers safe and easy. Polished leather straps allow for custom strapping options. D-rings have been added to the front to attach dressage aids and martingales. The saddle is then finished with our pin badges and embroidered PE logo.

We offer an affordable solution with a high level of anatomical expertise in the development of our innovative line of discipline specific saddles with customizable fit options. For an ideal fit, we recommend purchasing the PE Gullet Gauge to provide you with a guide to the best PE Gullet size to use in your saddle Premier Equine.

We understand that various factors can affect your horse, such as health, fitness, exercise regimen, age and condition. These factors can contribute to changes in your horse's shape, which means you may need to re-evaluate your saddle fit. Our interchangeable PE gullet system makes it quick and easy to customize the saddle fit, without the added cost of a new saddle.

Care Instructions

Using your saddle for the first time:

Premier Equine Has performed all necessary processing before delivering your saddle, so you can use it as soon as you receive it. However, for optimum softness and protection, we recommend applying a good quality leather conditioning balm and leaving it on for 24 hours to allow for complete absorption, out of direct sunlight. Buff with a soft cloth to remove excess.

Beware of the risk of staining white clothing, especially during the first uses.

Store the product in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Clean your saddle regularly and apply a good quality saddle care balm to maintain the suppleness and color of the leather.

Keep your saddle on a hook or saddle rack that provides even pressure.

Daily Care:

  1. Remove dirt and debris from the surface and straps by wiping your saddle with a soft, damp cloth after each use.
  2. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to remove any excess moisture.
  3. Allow the saddle to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat.
  4. Once the saddle is dry, apply a high quality leather balm. Be careful not to over saturate the leather, especially the girths*.
  5. Allow the saddle to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat.
  6. Once dry, apply your saddle cover to protect it.

If your saddle has been in contact with water, let it dry naturally away from direct sunlight and heat. Once dry, apply a high quality leather balm and store your saddle in a dry place.

  • Do not place dirty accessories on top of the saddle.
  • Do not clean the saddle with products containing solvents or glycerine soap, as these substances will damage the integrity of the saddle.
  • Do not treat/grease a saddle that has not been cleaned beforehand, as this may allow dirt to penetrate the leather and damage it.
  • Note: During the summer months, it may be necessary to increase the frequency of treatment of your leather saddle as the sun and high temperatures can dehydrate the leather.
  • *Caution: Over-saturation of leather and leather straps can result in excessive absorption which can deteriorate the leather.

For optimal performance and longevity: apply a high quality leather conditioning balm at least twice a month to maintain leather suppleness.
